[et_pb_section admin_label=”section”] [et_pb_row admin_label=”row”] [et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text”]Okay, I’m just going to come to terms with it, blogging is having to take a back burner right now with everything else going on. Come the new year, I am so excited to get back into a regular rhythm of blogging.
Life has been full with nannying, mentoring a couple new girls in their Beautycounter businesses, prepping for the holidays, IIN, and working on my own Beautycounter business. I LOVE my work and it’s 100% worth the extra hours. For Thanksgiving, most of my family is coming to Philly and I can’t wait to eat good food and spend time together. What are your Thanksgiving plans?
I thought it would be fun to share with you all a couple things I’ve really been lovely lately! Support for Thanksgiving: The holidays can be very challenging when it comes to ED recovery, Intuitive Eating, and just handling food in general. It’s a time when food is celebrated, but also a time of A LOT of diet talk. I am not immune to this either. This year, my intention is to really slow down, be present, and give myself all the grace when it comes to food. In the Real Life Rd’s newsletter this week, Robyn shared some practicals tools to help you have a calmer, truly healthier Thanksgiving. One of my favorites is have a good breakfast on Thanksgiving morning! Here’s some little love from Rosie too!
Beautycounter’s Black Friday Deals: I’ve never been a Black Friday person, but the idea of getting some shopping done now (away from crowds) so I can spend time with family sounded like a good idea. Plus, when my favorite safer beauty products are on sale (and they never are). Black Friday started yesterday with 15% OFF + FREE shipping on orders over $50 (through 11/26). If you need some ideas, the Best of Beautycounter set, Necessary Neutrals Eyeshadow Palette, Instant Awakening Trio, and Cleansing Balm would be perfect for this time! Check out the online shop for more products.
“Don’t Salt My Game” Podcast: I’ve been listening to this podcast non-stop the last couple weeks! Laura is a registered dietician in the UK specializing in intuitive eating, health at every size, and non-diet nutrition and interviews experts on these topics. I just finished the episode with Evelyn Tribole, the author of Intuitive Eating, and it was incredible! I also am a huge fan of this episode and this one.
Pumkin Oatmeal: With the cooler weather, I’ve transitioned from smoothies to oatmeal for breakfast, and I’m really loving adding pumkin and spices to my regular recipe. For the oats, I cook 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats with 1 cup milk, about1/4 cup canned pumpkin, and 1 scoop Ancient Nutrition Collagen, and some cinnamon, cloves, ginger, salt. Then I top it with peanut butter, banana, and either honey, maple syrup, or pumpkin butter. So comforting and delicious!
Pumkin Everything: I was thinking of all the other things I’ve been loving and their food, and they involve pumpkin. Tis the season I guess! Two special items to note are Ben & Jerry’s Pumpkin Cheesecake ice cream (one of the only non-chocolate ice creams I like) and Lemon and Zest’s pumpkin banana bread. We have a plethora of banana’s in our freezer, and I wanted to make pumpkin bread too, so I married the two flavors. This recipe is the best!
