Happy 2019! I don’t know about you, but I really love anything that signifies a fresh start – Mondays, the start of the New Year, etc. There’s nothing magical about these times, but to me it’s an opportunity to think about goals, dreams, plans. I’m a planner and a goal-setter, so it fits me well.
While it’s not necessary to set goals/resolutions/intentions for the new year, I personally find it empowering and exciting. What can I work towards and how can I grow this year? I wanted to share some of these goals with you.
Stay Consistent with a Morning Routine:
I discovered the power of morning routines this year when I read Miracle Morning. I honestly feel my best when I take time in the morning for myself. For me this includes deep breathing, reading my Bible, reading a personal development book, journaling, and praying. I also try to throw in some movement too, whether it’s stretching or a longer workout (depending on how I feel). I fell off track in the last 3 months, and I could tell. I didn’t have the same energy or positive mindset. I’m excited to make this more part of my life this year.
Use My Cookbooks:
Is it just me, or do others also have a stack of beautiful cookbooks, but when it comes to finding a recipe we turn to Pinterest? Nothing wrong with Pinterest, but I want to use what I have, and there’s something romantic about cookbooks (I’m totally a romantic). My plan is to pick one recipe from a cookbook a week to try out. What are your favorite cookbooks?
Create a More Sustainable Home:
We have come a long way in two years to make our home more sustainable, however there is still room for a lot of improvement. Ideally, I would like to reduce the amount of plastic especially in the kitchen. This year I hope to invest in reusable storage bags (to replace ziploc bags) and I have my eyes on these Stasher bags. I also want to get reusable produce bags and bulk bags for grocery shopping.
Blog 3 Times a Week:
I have missed blogging while I was nannying, and now I am excited to share life more in depth here! There will be a mix of deeper topics, meal ideas, and life updates. If you have any requests for posts, please let me know!
Start my Health Coaching Practice:
Very soon, I will be taking clients for health coaching! Stay tuned for information come February, and if you know of any women who need help finding freedom with food and peace with their body, I would love to be of help.
Plan Out Content and be Productive:
I have a terrible habit of planning out what I am going to write/post on the fly, and it wastes time and is stressful. I want to serve my audience better by being strategic and planning out content beforehand. I currently am using Asana to plan out my work and plan to use it with content too. All in all, my desire is to be more present this year, and planning my work ahead of time will help me use my time better.

Letting Go of Leo: I just finished this book this morning and loved every bit of it. Simi is so real and raw, and it made me feel like I am not alone. For any perfectionists out, this is a must read.
